Death has been a taboo topic for far too long.

Join us on our movement where we transform the experience of death from fear to empowerment. We empowers people to make conscious choices about how they say good-bye for themselves and those they love.

These features are not set in stone yet because are still building. For now, imagine having a platform where you can document all your thoughts, desires and thank yous for loved ones in one place.

• Have memories for loved ones ready to send as soon as you pass away
• Attach all legal documents securely
• Memories can be stamped to be opened for a future date ex: loved ones 50th birthday
• Describe how you would like your body to be buried and ceremony to feel
• write letters, record video or audio, attach pictures and more -- all to be shared securely upon your death.

After losing my twins during a miscarriage, I suddenly got this sense of "inspiration" and furiously started writing out and designing the whole idea for Farvel. Not long after this, my father died. Two weeks before his death, I had the chance to ask him whether he had any wishes around his ceremony. He answered with a powerful YES! He wanted a celebration of life, with his ashes spread in a half moon in the sea, close to his childhood home and a few other special moments. The Ashes had to be spread at 7 am in the morning when everyone was done celebrating his life. This had a profound influence on us as a family. It brought us peace and closure because we celebrated his incredible spirit, the way he wanted, leaving us with a sense of joy and peace with the space to grieve.

Six years prior, I lost my mother. She decided to have her wishes and desires written out for us, which gave us time to process and grieve rather than worry whether we were honouring her.

She also left us a box of memories for each of her children, providing us with a feeling of connection, love and peace.

I have interviewed people from all walks of life, and the consistent message is that people feel sadness for not getting a chance to say good bye, the way they wanted.

The ones we leave behind, suffer the most. I believe we can all make a choice to leave a legacy of love while being empowered by the fact we will transition one day. We can transform the way we think about death, and participate in making the process a beautiful experience for everyone, including our departure. The decision to be prepared, not only in how we want to go but with memories of love, helps relieve those we love from burden and pain.
